Teen Steals Car for Joyride, Hits Toddler
Being a teenager can be difficult. Being a teenager without a car can be even more difficult. One teen in St. Petersburg decided to take that boredom into his own hands by taking his mother’s van and going out joyriding. There are distinctive reasons why there are lessons, as an unlicensed teenager might not know all of the rules of the road.
Going out joyriding is never recommended, especially when there’s the possibility of something tragic happening. Fortunately, the toddler that the 15-year-old hit only received minor injuries from the collision. It could have been much worse, something which he would have had to live with for the rest of his life.
The teen, upon being confronted by the victim’s mother, drove off. They then found the van that the youngster was driving and interviewed the mother. All in all, it’s fortunate that the 3-year-old who was hit wasn’t injured more seriously.
The kid was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and not having a valid license. Probably, though it was not mentioned, the teenager is going to also get a good talking to from his mother.
