A Sudden Car Accident At A Church Injured Several People And Killed One
A crash in Miami Gardens has taken the life of one person and left several others injured at an area church last week. The church was reaching out to the community in its bi-weekly charity function. Details of the crash have not been released yet.
CBS Local in Miami reported on its website that the accident happened on Wednesday, March 11th, at approximately 3:00 P.M. at the Mt. Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church in Miami Gardens.
In the frightening accident, a total of nine people were injured and four of the attendees suffered critical injuries. Sadly, one of the people died as a result of the injuries that they suffered in the accident.
Eyewitnesses to the incident said that a driver of a burgundy SUV drove through a line of people who were waiting for food at the church located in the 3300 block of NW 215th Street.
Every two weeks, Mt. Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church feeds approximately 300 local families who are in need of assistance. The church was in the middle of the bi-weekly food service when the fatal crash happened.
According to a spokesperson with Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue, the driver of the SUV suffered some sort of medical issue. Eyewitnesses said the female driver put her vehicle into reverse at high speed before striking those who were waiting outside the church in a food line.
The accident is still currently under investigation by the Miami-Gardens Police Department. No further information has been released at this time.
