Thursday Head-On Collision Puts Five in Hospital

According to Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll, a two door Mercedes convertible traveling east bound on the 79th Street Causeway jumped the median when the male driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle on the rainy road.

The convertible struck a pickup truck, injuring a grandmother, her daughter and two teenagers who were in the pickup truck. A good samaritan, a nurse, who was passing the accident stopped to provide assistance while emergency personnel were still enroute to the accident. All five people involved in the accident were transported to Ryder Trauma Center for treatment. Information on their status was not readily available.

Car accidents often leave the victims in a situation where the bills stack up and income is delayed at least temporarily. Often the insurance money is all the victims have to fall back on, but too frequently the amount of money the insurance companies will payout is the bare minimum.
