Multi-vehicle Accident on I-95 Turns Fatal
A deadly multi-vehicle accident on I-95 on Monday has left one person dead and an additional five people injured.
According to Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue, emergency crews rushed five people to the hospital following the crash that occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Authorities say that a tractor-trailer and a concrete mixer were also involved in the accident. Crews had to extricate some of the accident victims from the wreckage of the vehicles involved.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson said that one person who was injured in the accident died at the scene as the result of injuries they sustained in the crash.
The accident is still currently under investigation.
Each year, thousands of motorists are either critically injured or killed in accidents involving trucks and smaller vehicles. Some of these accidents are caused by the negligent or inexperienced operation of trucks by drivers. Those who are in passenger vehicles such as cars or pickup trucks simply just don’t have the size advantage that a larger vehicle has when traveling streets, highways, and other roadways.
