Driver Cut from Car after Bus Crash
A two-vehicle crash involving a school bus early Friday has left one person critically injured. According to authorities, the accident occurred just before 6:00 a.m. at N.W. 137th Avenue and N.W. 6th Street when a school bus was pulling out of a parking lot. A Toyota Camry collided with the bus.
The impact caused the car to cross the median, coming to rest on the guard rail. The driver of the Toyota had to be extricated from his vehicle by emergency crews. He was transported via ambulance to Kendall Regional Trauma Center and is listed in critical condition.
No one ever expects to find themselves in an auto accident, but when one does happen, especially when there is a school bus involved. Thankfully, no children were on board the bus when the accident occurred. If they had, the situation might have been worse. Even so, this accident was not without injury, and likely the person who has been injured in the accident will be facing a mountain of medical bills and time off the job. That can prove to be devastating to families.
