Deadly Wrong-Way Crash On US 441

One person has died after a deadly wrong-way crash that occurred in Northwest Miami-Dade near US 441 and Northwest 77th on Monday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m.

According to a story which appeared on the NBC Miami Local News website, Miami police investigators said that a silver Kia had been traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of US 441. The Kia passenger vehicle was abruptly stopped when it crashed head-on with a maroon BMW minivan.

Emergency crews from Miami Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of the deadly crash. Reports indicate that the driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional people who had been involved in the accident were transported via ambulance to Jackson Memorial Hospital. No further information has yet been released about the two individuals by authorities; however, both are currently listed in stable condition.

Police investigators have not yet stated which car the deceased person had been driving was traveling in. Their identity has also been withheld pending notification of family members.

US 141 from NW 75th Street to 77th Court remained closed until approximately 11:00 a.m. The scene of the accident was under investigation by officials as to what might have caused the fatal crash.
