Child Ejected in Crash
A young girl has died after an a chain reaction accident that happened in the area of Tam Oshanter Boulevard and Rock Island Road.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the accident when a driver lost control of their vehicle.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said in a statement that a vehicle being driven by a female driver also had a female juvenile passenger.
“That vehicle,” said Concepcion, also spun out and ended up striking a black Nissan Sentra that was waiting at the intersection, on the westbound side, for traffic to move. We understand that when the vehicle spun out, the juvenile was ejected from the vehicle and was thus pronounced dead here on the scene.”
The name of the juvenile victim has not been released. All others involved in the accident are expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators say that their inquiry into the incident is still in the early stages, but it does not appear that either impairment or speed were factors in the fatal crash.
