Two Dead, Six Injured in Miami-Dade Car Crash

Miami Local 10 has reported on a wreck in Miami-Dade that killed two people and injured six last Thursday evening. The crash caused a car fire.

Witnesses told police that a driver behind the wheel of an Infinity was going the wrong way on Northwest 79th Street at 10th Avenue in West Little River. The Infinity crashed into a Chevy and caught fire.

The two people in the Infinity died at the scene. The Chevy was carrying a pregnant woman and five children. Detectives do not know what caused the driver of the Infinity to change lanes into oncoming traffic.

The mother of the pregnant woman said her son found out about the fatal crash on Facebook and called her.

“I jumped in my car, I parked my car on 79th and Seventh Avenue, jumped out of it, ran to the police,” she said. “The police said I can just take the car and drive slow and come up, so I drove the car up and they say everybody (is) going to the hospital.”

Thankfully, all the children are expected to recover, though one may need surgery.

Our condolences go out to all the victims. We hope the police can figure out a reason why the driver merged into the wrong lanes.
