Two Dead In Dade Wreck
Local Channel 10 News reported recently that a deadly motor vehicle accident occurred on the southbound express lanes of Interstate 95 near Miami Gardens in Dade County, FL on the evening of Monday, February 15, 2021 that claimed the lives of two victims.
According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred in the Miami-Dade area near Miami Gardens, along the southbound express lanes of Interstate 95 near the exit for Miami Gardens Drive, during peak rush hour on Monday, February 15, 2021, and involved a burgundy Saturn sedan and a black Dodge Ram pickup truck. The accident shut down southbound lanes of I-95 for well over four hours while cleanup and preliminary investigations took place.
Two women, both occupants of the Saturn sedan, were killed in the accident; specifics on the accident were sparse, but news footage showed the burgundy Saturn sedan to be mangled and crushed between the truck and the concrete barrier wall adjacent to the freeway. Responding agencies included the Florida Highway Patrol, Miami Dade Fire Rescue, and other local first responder agencies.
The accident remains under an active investigation and eyewitnesses are asked to contact investigating authorities with any relevant information they may have on the incident.
