Miramar Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspects

Police in Miramar are still searching for two suspects after an armed robbery and police pursuit that began in Miami-Dade on Tuesday night.

Local 10 in Miami reports that on the night of Tuesday, October 13, police received a call involving an armed robbery at a Shell gas station near the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and Flagler Street.

Officers with the Miami-Dade Police Department spotted the black Hyundai and began the pursuit and were later joined by the Florida Highway Patrol.

An unknown number of suspects in the vehicle fled from law enforcement officers, leading them on a chase from State Road 836 to the Florida Turnpike and eventually onto Interstate 75.

According to a statement released by officials, the driver got off Interstate 75 at the Miramar Parkway exit ramp.  Area residents say that two suspects continued to Monarch Lakes Boulevard, where they then abandoned the vehicle and continued to flee on foot.

Officers combed the area surrounding where the suspect vehicle was left and eventually were able to locate the suspect driver.  Police apprehended and placed the driver under arrest. His identity has not been released.

The second suspect is still at large. Authorities describe him as being a Black male of medium build and wearing all black. Police are asking anyone with any information about his identity or current whereabouts to contact police.
