Woman Killed in HIt-and-Run Accident Just Outside Her Home
The world can be a dangerous place, but we almost always feel safe at home. When home, we expect shelter from the dangers of outside. It’s where we relax and can be ourselves. But what happens when danger—or even death—finds us right at home, when we least expect it?
That’s what happened last week to Elizabeth Cordona, age 22, in Miami. She was leaving her home, at 3810 NW 13th Street, pulling out of her driveway at about 1 in the afternoon when a silver Toyota minivan hit her vehicle.
The crash was so strong that her car rolled over and hit a tree. Miami Fire Rescue managed to get her out of the wreck and transport her to Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center, but she was pronounced dead there.
If you recently lost a loved one in a similar accident, you are no doubt going through a very hard time. One of the things that a grieving family doesn’t often think about right away is the financial hardship that often comes along with losing someone in an accident. Often we depend on our insurance to help us, but what happens when that insurance isn’t enough to cover all our needs?
