Police Seek Help Finding Hit And Run Suspect

.The Miami-Dade Police Department is once again asking the public’s help in finding a hit and run driver that struck and killed a pedestrian in northwest Miami.

In a news story which appeared on the NBC Miami affiliate station website, the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Carlos Gilberto Garcia. Chacon was struck by an unknown vehicle in the 300 block of 109th Avenue at approximately 5:16 a.m. on Sunday, September 30th.

Emergency crews from Miami-Dade fire and rescue responded to the call. Chacon was pronounced dead at the scene. The unidentified car and driver fled the scene of the fatal crash.

Police said in a statement that there was no surveillance video at the scene of the incident. Police are hoping that someone was in the area at the time and can give investigators information leading to an arrest.
