Police Apprehend Suspects Possibly Looking To Burglarize A Neighborhood

It is important for residents in neighborhoods to be vigilant in reporting suspicious behaviors. Police officers have arrested a man in Miami Beach after he was observed casing homes along the Venetian Causeway last week.

The CBS Local station in Miami reported that the incident happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21st when officers observed a vehicle in the residential neighborhood well after curfew. Officers believed that the occupants of the vehicle may have been canvassing the area looking for residences to burglarize.

When officers attempted to pull over the car, the driver refused to pull over and fled the scene. The officers gave chase to the suspect vehicle.

The suspect driver stopped near Dilido Island, where two suspects got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. One of the suspects ran into the yard of a nearby residence where he was apprehended by a Miami Beach K9 officer.   His identity has not been released by the authorities.

The second suspect in the incident ran until he reached Biscayne Bay, where he jumped into the water. Miami Beach Police officers did a search of the area and found the body of a man who matched the description of one of the suspects that had been seen earlier in the Venetian Causeway neighborhood.

Police found that the car that the suspects used in the incident had been stolen earlier that day in Miami Beach, but the original driver of the car did not report the car missing or stolen.
