Heroic Rescue from Burning Car

According to police, the woman had been driving in the rain Sunday morning when she lost control of her vehicle and slammed it into a tree.
Eyewitnesses to the incident indicated having heard a bang and the car being wrapped around the tree. The rear of the vehicle then caught fire, with smoke filling the vehicle. The Opalocka officer arrived on the scene and used a fire extinguisher to smash the car’s rear window and helped to free the woman trapped inside.
The woman’s husband just happened to be driving by on his way to work when he spotted his wife’s vehicle. He pulled over at the scene of the crash.
Authorities say that the woman was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.
