Bus Crash Injures 3
In many cases where a school bus is involved, it’s the driver of the other vehicle who causes the accident. It seems some believe that the school bus not only has a similar stopping distance to normal sized vehicles, but they also have the same type of visibility that others have on the road. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
The onramps to I-75 can be very tricky to navigate. There are places where the ramp itself is incredibly narrow, not allowing for passing vehicles. There are also places where the visibility is limited and drivers are forced to slow down and pay more attention.
A 56-year-old man was trying to get onto I-75 when he cut off a Pasco County school bus. The bus driver wasn’t given enough time to stop or even think of stopping. The Pasco County school bus swiped the side of the 200 Mazda 626.
The passengers of the Mazda were taken to the hospital in the Tampa are. Both of them sustained serious injuries. There were four kids on the bus who received minor injuries – they were sent home from the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still deliberating on whether charges will be filed. The driver was not taken into custody.
