Boating Tragedy Leaves 1 Man Seriously Injured
Saturday night’s horrifying boating accident has left a young mother dead and another man badly injured and in intensive care.
Dayron Baralt, a twenty-three year old club promoter, Maykel Perdomo and the mother of Perdomo’s child, Maria Del Valle, were all out on a twenty-seven foot pleasure boat near the Matheson Hammock Park and Marina when they were run over by a sixty-eight foot motor yacht.
The pilot of the yacht was detained and given a field sobriety test and blood was drawn.
The accident is still under investigation. Baralt suffered damage to his spine as well as his liver. He remains in Intensive Care where he is still unable to communicate. Perdomo remains hospitalized, though he is listed as being in stable condition. Del Valle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and later passed away there.
