Two Trapped in Rollover Crash in Coconut Creek

Being in an accident can be terrifying. Going off the road into an area concealed by trees and brush could make it that no one sees a crash right away. It could also make rescues difficult.

That may have been what happened when a mangled car was discovered in Coconut Creek on Friday morning. The accident left two people injured. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Authorities say the rollover crash happened at approximately 6:0 0 a.m. on the eastbound lanes on Sample Road at the Turnpike, trapping two people inside the vehicle.

A spokesperson for the Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Department spokesperson said that the vehicle struck a tree, severely damaging it.

The two people who have been unidentified were extricated from the wreckage by rescue crews and rushed to Broward Health North. They were both listed as trauma alerts with significant injuries.

Any vehicle could potentially rollover in an accident and cause significant injuries or even death. A rollover may happen for any number of reasons such as if a driver hits a curb or other object in the road. It can also happen if the vehicle goes onto the median and the driver overcorrects, causing instability and a loss of control.
