Traffic Accident Claims the Life of Four Year Old Boy
Saturday evening, around 8:30pm, a black BMW sedan struck a mother and her two children as they made their way across a crosswalk. Natali Alja’ouni and her two children, an 8 month old in a stroller and her four year old son, were crossing a crosswalk in the 4100 block of Pine Island Road in Sunrise when a black BMW swerved to avoid another car. The driver, described as being a young male, lost control of the vehicle and struck the three pedestrians.
“It’s bad. I’m a real parent. I have kids of my own,” said Christopher Barker. “It’s a young child. It’s very scary.”
The three victims were transported to Broward Health Medical Center, the mother was airlifted and the two children were taken by ambulance. The four year old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother and 8 month old are listed as being in critical, but stable condition.
