Drunk Driver Arrested for Causing Three Deaths

indexWhen someone chooses to drink and drive, that choice often will not only affect that person but also everyone else in the vehicle with them and the others who share the road with them. Three passengers died as the result of one DUI driver’s actions according to the police. An alleged DUI driver drove his vehicle into the canal, killing three passengers inside more than five months ago.

The crash occurred January 9th at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and Inverrary Boulevard in Lauderhill.

The driver has been identified as DeShawn Prince, 24.  Prince was able to swim to safety while the other three people inside the car were trapped.

Divers were able to reach the three passengers, but it was too late.  All three passed away at area hospitals.  Prince was also taken to the hospital but was treated and released.

Tests revealed that Prince was legally intoxicated at the time of the three-fatality accident. . He is facing numerous charges which include six DUI related charges and three vehicular homicide deaths.

The accident took the lives of Shaquille Barrows, 22, Nathaniel Morgan, 25, Tyrese Legrand, 14 the younger brother of Barrows.

The family of the brothers appeared in court for the hearing and requested that the judge to keep Prince behind bars.

Prince is currently facing a total of 11 charges for the fatal accident and his bond has been set in excess of $500,000.
